A further stage in the development of the company's manufacturing base was to introduce a small filterpress. This enabled the scrap material from the hand throwers to be recycled into plastic clay for use in the making of a range of products using the hand jigger, and a small press device.

The scrap clay is liquidised in the mixer and pumped into the filterpress under pressure. The filtercloths lining the chamber retain the clay and the excess water drains out through channels in the unit.

The result is a slab of clay suitable for passing through an extrusion machine to remove any trapped air, then the clay is ready for the production process again.
