The tanks were of fiberglass construction and of appropriate volume to enable the continuous supply of the processed clay to the filterpress. This enabled Kazuri to plan production ahead, in the knowledge that there would be an adequate supply of their essential material.

As illustrated, the basic clay mix consisted of raw, unprocessed clay straight from the 'bush'. It was in fact obtained from an area called Karitina, where there are scattered deposits of plastic clays to be found in the valleys of this mountainous part of the country.
