Further technical aid missions resulted in the introduction of a simple hand operated making machine known as a 'jigger'. This required the manufacture of precision plaster moulds from a machined aluminium master mould. This work was carried out using local metal casting facilities, coupled with the skills of a nearby engineering workshop. One of the dinner plates made from the hand jigger is being trimmed ready for kiln firing - as seen below.
